Château St. Louis La Perdrix –“La Dernière Croisade”

This wine comes from the oldest plots of land around this Castle. Carignan grape bunches are picked manually using crates, and full grapes (without destemming) are placed into stainless steel tanks to make the wine. Syrah and Grenache varieties are harvested once optimally ripe, destemmed before being vinified in cylindrical stainless steel tanks in a temperature controlled environment. Owing to barrelaging, this vintage offers roasted nut hints as well as a smart, melted-tannin sensation.
50% Syrah / 35% Grenache / 15% Carignan
This is an intense, deep-coloured wine. Its smell is a combination of complex hints, including hints of fruity and roasted nut flavours. Its powerful yet subtle attack on the palate expresses soft fruit and small-berry aromas such as cherry and blackberry.
Serve at 16-18 °C.
